Cyprus.
This island is bright and resistant.
Its flora lays very low to survive the extreme summer heat and returns to life in vivid bright splashes during the warm winter.
I capture rough leaves and thick roots in the local corse gypsum. Cyprus casts have the most volume and strength. For me this series is the symbol of endurance and desire to live.
Japan.
For me this place is defined by evanescence.
This series is my attempt to capture the delicacy of spring flora and the last breath of the autumn momiji.
Using the heavy metal roller I’m trying to reach a mirror like sleekness of the plaster surface - hours of work to seize the subtle beauty - very Japanese way of doing things.
The United Kingdom.
I see people of Britain as reserved and modest. With no shimmer and screaming they tend to impress. Just the same as the flora of United Kingdom does. Similar to the Cyprus one it learnt to thrive in a severe weather - just as British traditions do.
To keep the work elegant and focused I try to fit just a few plants in it. Casted frame of each piece symbolises the unseen borders people tend to stay within in order to preserve their life and traditions that make this land one of the greatest.
